Being a Mangalorean, we’ve had Seafood for Most meals.
After having heard a lot about the Famous “The Marina” in Chennai, I was all excited to visit this place and try out the delicacies here. This place has a good variety of starters and main course dishes to make you want to love Seafood More.
Studies have shown Seafood contains much fewer calories and are very rich in essential nutrients as well as Proteins, Omega 3 and other essential fatty acids, Vitamins C, D & E as well as Zinc. It also helps to maintain a healthy and a well balanced diet. I’ve also heard seafood is good for brain growth. Prawns, Shrimps and Crabs have been my favourite since my childhood days and continues to remain to this day.
The Sula Brut Methode Traditionnelle, a honey creamy, sparkling wine with a pale golden colour served as an apt aperitif for the meal. Prepared from a mix of Thompson seedless and Chenin Blanc Green Grapes at the Sula Vineyards, it is one of the nicer Sparkling Wines available at most restaurants.
Manchow crab meat soup – Manchow soup with fried noodles, made with Crab Meat. A Chinese delicacy.
Crab Tikka – The Star of the evening, had a good amount of Tikka Masala in it and tasted quite great.
Mackerel Tawa Fry – The Fish Mackerel, favourite to many, fried on the Tawa. Tasted quite nice.
Crispy Corn Golden Basket – Crispy Corn in a Golden Basket made of Papad.
Steamed fish in mandarin sauce – A Delicate balance of Spices with a sauce made of Mandarins.
Shrimp roast masala – Shrimps carefully sauteed in this yellow coconut gravy, tasted well with the Ghee Rice.
Kumarakom Fish curry – Fish simmered in Kodampuli enhanced spicy red chilli gravy.
Malabar Prawn Curry – Prawns in Coconut Milk. This too went well with the Ghee Rice.
Tres Leches cake – A Russian Dessert, made with a Sponge Cake soaked in three kinds of milk: evaporated milk, condensed milk, and heavy cream.
