The idea of Drunkling came up when the owner would herd his drunk friends home. The owners of the venue, all old Bengalureans, are trying to bring back pubs in their true form, which makes Drunkling in Koramangala the ideal place to get nostalgic in a modern setting. The partners, Sudheer KS, Rajshekhar Reddy, Yogesh M, Dominic Savio and Nandhu Naidu are the quintessential old Bengalureans who’s hearts bled for an uncomplicated pub city of yesteryear that’s been lost its way in the quagmire of being trendy and current. Spread across 4 floors, this place has a flair to it. The interiors are beautiful and makes you happy. The ground and first floors resemble a restaurant. The second floor a pub and the third floor is a dance floor, definitely a place to party.
We visited this place for a meetup of like-minded folks who share a common passion for good food with amazing company.
Tandoori Pineapple – Pineapple mixed with spice and cooked in a Barbeque.
Hussaini Gobi – Chunks of Cauliflower in a green masala.
Paneer Sholay – Succulent Cheddar Cheese cubes with a delicious Punjabi style masala.
Mushroom Basil – A spicy mushroom variant with a delicate mix of basil and spices.
Hariyali Murg – A mint masala-based paste applied evenly to juicy boneless chicken cubes roasted to perfection in the Tandoor.
Bruschetta – With Chicken Keema toppings, this was delicious.
Tandoori department seems to be their forte and it was great.
Loaded Potato – Potato skins stuffed with minced chicken and loaded flavour of sauces.
Vegetarian loaded Pizza – Firstly, the cheese was generous, and the crust was perfect and the pizza was good.
Vegetarian Burger – The fries were normal, the patty was amazing, the burger bun infused with garlic and cheese was exotic.
Popcorn Aglio Olio – Fresh popcorn infused with Virgin Olive Oil, Chilli Garlic flakes and Parsley. Similarly prepared as you would a SOP (Spaghetti Aglio Olio), but with lesser oil and no sauteed vegetables or chopped garlic.
Barbeque Exotic Veg Sizzler – This was star of the day. The exotic Barbeque sauce and the rice base was epic. Don’t even forget to try this sizzler
Stuffed Paneer Sizzler – The cottage cheese stuffed sizzler is very delicious. The minced paneer steals the show.
Mushroom Basil Pizza – Thin Crust with a topping of Mushrooms and Basil leaves.
Peri Peri Chicken Burger – Peri Peri flavoured Chicken Patties in a Burger Bun.
Drunkling Special Chicken Sizzler – With a Juicy Chicken Steak piece, with the Mashed Potatoes and a generous topping of Shredded Cheddar Cheese.
Sausage Pizza – A thin crust variant loaded with lots of pork sausages. Tender meat made the pizza taste good. The amount of cheese on them too was pretty high. The BBQ sauce enhanced the flavour.
Chocolate Brownie – Chocolate Brownie with a generous scoop of Vanilla Ice Cream and Hot Chocolate Sauce to make it just perfect.
Caramel Custard – Caramel Custard, tasted just well.
Dominic, the managing partner, was the man behind the bar potions that have trickled down many Bengalurean throats. He was the tap man at Black Cadillac, Popular Tavern among others. Sudheer KS is a former state Level boxer turned pub owner, who got Designer Arun Balan to design this Pub. After his father, a veteran in the hotel industry who had a passion to start a regular pub passed away, Drunkling is a dream fulfilled.
Chef Abhiruth Ramasamy had concocted an Excellent Menu.
Our host, Shekar Vijayan, having hosted events world over, ensured the group had an awesome experience and kept us on our toes.
